I'm curious if people from the Los Angeles group are interested in
more Crisis Camp related activities?
I have tried to stay peripherally involved with the activities in the
other cities- and a few weeks back there was a Founders Weekend in DC
to more formally define the organizational structure and Mission
Statement. Personally, I have found it challenging to find the
bandwidth to stay participatory across the geography, time zones, etc.
but I assume there are active projects which some of you may be
involved with to this day.
My main interest remains the preparation and planning for incidents in
Los Angeles and mobilizing our local resources to quickly plug-in to
help other affected areas. My sense is that Crisis Commons has some
more growing pains to sort out before we can efficiently host a camp
with new volunteers and work on projects with other teams in other
cities - but that doesn't mean our efforts here should remain silent.
To the contrary, we should take this time now to discuss projects to
address the needs that may arise following a catastrophic disaster in
our backyard. Then we can recruit other Crisis Camps to help us build
the very tools that all of us wish the people and Government of Haiti
were trained and familiar with before January 12.
Let me know if you have any particular interests for another gathering
and what you think we should work on.
Best,
Alex

I was sitting in a chair and suddenly felt like I was on the high seas
it was so wavy and rolling.
A good time to kick up the discussion!

I'm interested in staying involved, as well, when time permits.

I'm still interested in the Crisis evolution. especially in long term
preparedness locally (Ventura, LA counties) and globally.

As for future CrisisCamps and Los Angeles, as time permits, I'm
definitely interested -- though possibly also moving out of state as
soon as August for school.
