Dealing with Weed Trees

My garden (Mayfield Community Garden) has weed trees that are popping up behind sheds, compost bins, etc. Since the problem is "out of sight, out of mind," what is the best way to kill them or suppress them?

Hello, If you're not opposed to using an organic liquid, recommend trying out Bonide Stump and Vine Killer. Here's a description:

I've also heard cardboard and thick mulch over it might work, but will take a growing season to see the results. The liquid is a faster solution.
