Hello Gardeners,

We're growing peas this spring and notice that our leaves are nibbled down, while another area has perfectly in-tact pea shoots/leaves. What's causing this and how to resolve the issue? Any ideas?

Thanks for your help,
Phung

Hi Phung! Do you have any pics of the nibbled leaves you could share? If it's limited to one area, it could be a caterpillar but the shape of the nibbles can give more clues!

Hi Amy, Thank you! We finally placed some chicken wire around the pea shoots and they're growing out - no more nibbles. We think it's the birds having an early spring snack.

I could just never know if pests are birds, bug-variety or bacteria/viral. Are there any ways to tell?

Thanks,
Phung
