Dear Yuxin, Rongzhuo, Polly, Hao, and Maojie:

Greetings from the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations!

We hope you have been doing well since last year锟斤拷s U.S. Foreign Policy Colloquium 锟紺 we are delighted that you were able to participate, and hope that you enjoyed the program.

Registration for this year锟斤拷s FPC is currently open, and the deadline is next week.  We haven锟斤拷t yet received many applications from Duke, however, and we would like to reach more of your colleagues and classmates.  As FPC alumni, we would greatly appreciate your assistance in spreading the word!

Please spread the invitation below and attached FPC 2012 flyer to your classmates.  If you could get us directly in contact with your CSSA leadership, that would be wonderful as well.

If you can help us, please let me know!  And of course, if you ever find yourself in New York City, please visit us 锟紺 we would love to see you again.

Warm regards,

Lee Anne

To the CSSA chapter at Duke University:

It is my pleasure, on behalf of the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (锟斤拷锟叫癸拷系全锟斤拷委员锟斤拷) and our opening ceremony guest speaker, His Excellency Zhang Yesui, PRC Ambassador to the United States, to extend to your Chinese graduate students an invitation to our ninth annual U.S. Foreign Policy Colloquium.

The Colloquium is a unique opportunity, available exclusively to Chinese graduate students in the U.S., designed as an intensive introduction to the history and inner workings of American foreign policy.  Over the past decade, the Colloquium has attracted high-level support from both federal and non-governmental institutions interested in promoting stronger understanding between the United States and China.  The three days of programming include lectures by renowned experts and policymakers in Washington; site visits to federal institutions, think tanks, law firms and NGOs; and interactive dialogue between student participants and guest scholars.  Program costs are almost entirely covered by our funders, which include Coca-Cola and the Hershey Company, so that the direct cost to students is minimalMore information is available on our website at http://www.ncuscr.org/programs/fpc.

We always have excellent speakers and this year is no exception: the keynote speaker is Dr. Zbigniew Brzezinski and among other guest speakers, we will have former Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao (锟斤拷小锟斤拷), former Ambassador to China Joe Prueher, and economist Mark Zandi.

We would be delighted to see a significant percentage of your Chinese graduate students take advantage of this phenomenal opportunity and represent Syracuse at the Colloquium this year.  Attached is an informational PDF flyer for the 2012 Foreign Policy Colloquium, and the direct registration link is  https://www.etouches.com/fpc2012

Please feel free to share the flyer and links with all of your Chinese graduate students and student leader contacts.  The deadline has been extended to next Monday, May 7, so encourage them to register soon!

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Our gratitude for your assistance!

Warm regards,

Lee Anne Shaffer
