What's your thoughts on why Cisco Press or Cisco itself is not coming up with good detailed books around technologies that are making differences in today's network world. While one may say since these technologies are new and not field tested, I think from adoption standpoint once more material is available to Engineers, they should be able to get more into it and feel better to go ahead with deployment. Few examples would like to list quickly:
- Segment Routing
- IP FRR
- Clos Fabric
- Large DC Design Using BGP
- VXLAN, EVPN
- PCEP, BGP LS, LISP
- Cisco ACI (The book that's been there from Cisco press is very high level and generic at the moment with no details on implementation)
- DDOS Solutions, Flow Spec
- iWAN
Now RFCs and Drafts are there including white papers, but one really has to do lot of research and spend additional time to find details and guidelines around design and implementation. Also documentation available in format like books - BGP Design & Implementation makes lot more sense for most people I guess including me.
Thanks!
