Happy February Environmental Rights Friends!

I thought I'd share with you a few things:

(1)
Tonight - David Suzuki Foundation Cross Canada "Right to a Healthy
Environment" Cross Canada Conference Call: http://www.davidsuzuki.org/

Why is our right to clean air, safe water and fertile soil not protected in
Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms? Are people healthier in countries
where environmental laws are stronger? Should nature have rights? What can
Canadians learn from the global environmental rights movement? These are
just some of the questions we'll be discussing with special guest Dr. David
Boyd-environmental lawyer, professor and author of The Right to a Healthy
Environment-at our David Suzuki Foundation Telephone Town Hall. We'll be
connecting thousands of Canadians in a nation-wide conference call-and
you're invited!

Sunday, February 3, 2013
4 - 5 p.m. Pacific / 7 - 8 p.m. Eastern

It's free to register, but space is limited, so register now.
David Suzuki Foundation's public engagement manager Nina Winham will host
the conversation and Foundation CEO Peter Robinson will be there to talk
about the work we're doing to protect your right to a healthy environment.
Here's how it works:
.	Sign-up now. We'll give you a follow-up call as a reminder.
.	On the day of the event, we'll call you at 4 p.m. Pacific / 7 p.m.
Eastern.
.	Just like a radio call-in show, you can ask questions, share
opinions or just listen to the conversation from the comfort of your home.

We look forward to speaking with you soon!
The David Suzuki Foundation Team

See the latest graph that I prepared and updated based on the Public
Accounts of Canada to see where our federal priorities are. Please help
spread the word. See Volume 2 Table 1:
http://www.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca/recgen/cpc-pac/index-eng.html and then the
archives at the end of the page.

*You can give your input now on how the federal government should spend your
tax dollars here: http://www.fin.gc.ca/prebudget-prebudgetaire/1-eng.asp

When I was in Ottawa last week for a board meeting, I protested for an hour
against the warships - thought I'd share the photo and please check out my
web site (www.demilitarize.ca) and blog (http://demilitarize.ca/wp/) when
you can - help me spread the word that the federal government (with the
support of all the political parties) should be investing in a green, just
economy and future not war.

In solidarity for peace, earth and justice,

Tamara
