Severity observation code :371923003 fails validation in the ETT tool when template extension is "2014-06-09"

Hi, We are trying to validate a CCDA with Severity observation code :371923003 in the ETT tool for b2 Amb. It does not recognize this code when we have extension as "2014-06-09" (<templateId root="2.16.840.1.113883.10.20.22.4.8" extension="2014-06-09" />). If we change the extension to "2017-09-15", the Severity observation code: 371923003 gets validated. We are trying to find out when and/or where this extension change happened. I checked the Companion Guides and could not find any related information for the new extension that ETT tool requires. Can someone please let us know if you know when this change is released and where? Thanks.

I am looking at the June Errata Release of C-CDA and I can see the Severity Observation template [observation: identifier urn:hl7ii:2.16.840.1.113883.10.20.22.4.8:2014-06-09 (open)] Uses a value set called urn:oid:2.16.840.1.113883.3.88.12.3221.6.8 (Reaction Severity).

It also is important to note that is has been clarified in C-CDA R2.1 that Severity is an observation about the Reaction. It is no longer allowed as an observation about the allergy itself.  The nature of the allergy itself is captured with Criticality. 

 

Make sure you have the most recent C-CDA template definitions and the most recent vocab Release Package updates.
