Hey gang,

Since this is my (and many others') first time in Albuquerque, I want to make sure and get the full experience, right down to all the tastiest food in the city.  Can the veterans of CCD give some recommendations for good places to eat?  Mexican, American, Mediterranean, Asian, any and every tip is appreciated.  I'm also a big craft beer fan, so if you know any good pubs or bars with a nice beer list, I'd dig that too.

I second La Salitas and Sadies for great NM food.  Sadies has the most delicious guacamole burger w/ french bread, mm...

Thai Tip has good Thai food, especially really super extra spicy stuff, if you're into that.

Cheers,
Nina

Il Vicino is a wood oven pizza place that brews their own beer. It's
good and price pretty reasonably, one of my favorite places to eat at
here.

Chama River is another local local place with some awesome beer and
food. The food is really good but a bit pricier than Il Vicino. It's
right by the Rio Century 24 movie theater so in the past people have
gone to see a movie and then before or after it stopped in for a beer.

Marble Brewery is another good one. It's just kinda like a tap room
with awesome beer. No food but you can bring stuff with you or order
a pizza to get delivered or something. Maybe we should arrange an
outing or something?

If you like BBQ, then Rudy's BBQ and Whole Hog are awesome. I can
also vouch for La Salitas ans Sadies, but I also wanted to add Los
Cuates. Went there last week and I couldn't even come close to
finishing all my food and it was seriously the most food I've ever
eaten in a sitting (and that says a lot). Not to mention the food was
freaking awesome.

@Patrick I would totally be down for attending such an outing!

Forgive any mispellings, I got this list from my coworkers (who are of
the opinion that the dining ABQ has to offer is numerous and
delicious.. and from what I've tried of their suggestions, so far, I
am beginning to agree):

New Mexican/Mexican:
El Pinto
Sadies
Los Cuates
Pereas
El Nortenio
Cerventes
Gardunos
El Modelo (rougher area, take-out, but supposed to be excellent)
Frontier (college adjacent, cheaper food, but nice)

El Salvador:
Pupuseria Y Restaurante Salvadoreno
==>supposed to be Very good, inside a former gas station though

Tapas:
Gecko's

Pizza:
Mario's
Davinci's Pizza
Giovanni's

Italian:
Scalo's
Nick & Jimmy's

Greek:
Yani's
Mikonos

Diner:
K&I (dive)
Flying Star (bfast)

BBQ:
Rudy's
Mr. Padrels

Gourmet:
Chef Dejour (apparently, must call ahead to make sure they are open...
is a restaurant for gourmet chefs to try things out in, from what I
understand)

Pub:
Kelly's
Two Fools Tavern

Indian:
India Palace

Vietnamese:
May Hong (or perhaps May Cafe)
Cafe Trang

Sushi:
Sakura

Well, that's all I got.

Good call Goldman!  I heard the Flying Star Cafe has a big selection of tasty baked desserts!

I just found a really good (inexpensive) sushi and boba/bubble tea
place today! It's called "bubble tea & coffee" (very creative, of
course), and it's right by Talin International Market (which is also
great for getting international groceries) on Louisiana. I highly
recommend it!

Albuquerque also has quite a few good farmer's markets. It's worth
checking them out sometime. we usually go to the downtown market.

Also, if you like meat, you should really check out Keller's
(butcher/grocery store).
