CCCOER’s Research & Impact Committee presents:
Unveiling Insights: Building an OER Course Inventory and Dashboard
Since 2012, Open Educational Resource (OER) use at Delaware County Community College (DCCC) has slowly grown through various efforts to advocate, promote, and support OER, but in 2021 it was realized that, without course marking, a method was needed to capture which faculty and courses were using OER and what impact this was, if any, having on students. A DCCC librarian worked with the College’s Institutional Effectiveness department to develop an OER course inventory and dashboard in order to begin capturing and displaying this information; to document the use of no and low-cost materials and to show trends in cost savings and students impacted.
This session discusses the project, issues encountered, findings, and future plans. Please attend if you are exploring how to measure OER use and impact at your institution or have had success in doing so. There will be time for discussion.
