Dear CCCOER Advisory --

Our next CCCOER Advisory meeting is Thursday, Oct 25, 3:00 PM EST (12:00 pm Pacific).    At our last meeting, Nadine Schreiter presented on Open Textbooks at Lakeshore Technical College in Wisconsin (thanks Nadine).  We also had an update on the California open textbook law from Dean Woodyard which has since been signed!!   

I am fortunate to be at Open Education (live streams here) this week and yesterday the British Columbia's Ministry of Higher Ed (BCCampus online) announced their own 40 open textbook initiative making the Pacific northwest a very OPEN coast.


Also, please share with your colleagues the upcoming webinar on Oct 30: Open Educational Outreach webinar on OER & Accessibility featuring Bookshare and Dr. Cynthia Alexander from Cerritos College.   All of our previous webinars are archived for your viewing pleasure.

Reminder: please use this email list to post announcements of interest or requests for help to the CCCOER Advisory group.   You all should have POSTING privileges.

Hello all,

Just a reminder that our monthly online meeting is this Thursday (3:00 pm EST), login information below.    

We will have a short presentation from the Kaleidoscope team, Kim Thanos, project manager, and Ronda Neugebauer, Academic Support Center Coordinator and faculty from Chadron State College regarding their project outcomes and opportunities for community colleges to become pilots in the second wave of their project.

Several of us attended Open Ed in Vancouver last week and we will have an update on a few of the announcements and happenings from that conference and we will share other events of interest.

Please bring updates on your OER projects to the meeting for sharing.
