Hello all, It is with great excitement that I announce the University of Delaware is holding its first Open and Affordable Learning Symposium<https://udel.libcal.com/event/15566517> on January 30th, 2026, from 9:00 am. It is completely free, plus a free lunch will be provided. Delaware is a small state, but we are passionate about building awareness around OER and hope this symposium will increase awareness and adoption of OER across the state. We welcome Jasmine Roberts-Crews as our keynote speaker! The event will bring together educators, librarians, instructional designers, and advocates who are passionate about making learning more accessible, equitable and affordable. Whether you’re new to OER or already using open and affordable materials in your classroom, the Symposium is your opportunity to: *Discover innovative approaches to open pedagogy and course design *Connect with peers and leaders advancing open education across Delaware and beyond *Gain practical ideas for reducing textbook costs and increasing student success We welcome anyone who can attend! You can register for this free event here<https://udel.libcal.com/event/15566517>. As a former Blue Hen (BS 1986) I am proud to see University of Delaware's efforts in Open Education. I just took a nostalgic Google Streetview tour of campus, it's been a while. Go UD!
