Dear colleagues

You are invited to participate in Teaching of Undergraduate Ecology Survey (TUES). The first of its kind, this survey will provide critical insights on how ecology is taught and where. It will take about 20 minutes to complete. This survey is anonymous and all who participate are eligible for a drawing to win a $50 gift card.

This survey is developed and administered as part of an NSF award DBI: 2120678 RCN-UBE: Transforming Ecology Education to 4D (TEE) to the Ecological Society of America (ESA).

Who should take this survey?

We welcome all who have been teaching ecology to any degree at the undergraduate level within the last three years including those teaching:

  • introductory biology
  • environmental science, and
  • other courses for STEM majors or non-majors or
  • ecology-embedded in courses in other disciplines e.g. sustainability, wildlife management etc.

 The survey seeks to understand:

  • Current practice in ecology education
  • Awareness of the Four-Dimensional Ecology Education (4DEE) Framework.

This survey is being carried out with the oversight of the Cary Institute's Institutional Review Board (IRB) under protocol 141-2021.

The survey will be open through December 2, 2022. To take the survey, please go to: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ESA-TUES22.

Thank you

Teresa Mourad,
PI Transforming Ecology Education to 4D RCN-UBE
