Good evening:

I hope this message finds everyone well. Does anyone have some great OER Resources for a World Civilizations II course that covers 15th century to the present. This is the description for the course below:

HIST 2322 World Civilizations II

A survey of the social, political, economic, cultural, religious, and intellectual history of the world from the 15th century to the present. The course examines major cultural regions of the world in Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania and their global interactions over time. Themes include maritime exploration and transoceanic empires, nation/state formation and industrialization, imperialism, global conflicts and resolutions, and global economic integration. The course emphasizes the development, interaction and impact of global exchange.

Sincerely,

I received my Ph.D. in Latin American History from The Ohio State University. I currently teach World History and Latin American History courses in California. Because most textbooks either simplify complex issues or completely omit controversial topics, I set up this channel to focus on some "lesser-known" topics in world history. There is no secret formula for successful teaching, but research has shown that some techniques promote student learning more than others. My hope is that these videos will inspire you to become active participants in a learning community and gain a fuller understanding of current events and contentious debates. History is not a mere collection of boring facts. In fact, it is a discipline that allows us to challenge our limitations/boundaries through our understanding of the social and political forces that have shaped the construction of our knowledge and epistemologies. Please subscribe, share, and comment.

Best wishes,
Anu Mande

Hi Prakash,

You might also be interested in the OpenStax World History, Volume 2: from 1400 textbook that was released last December.  I noticed that the resource is not listed on the ASCCC website, but might align with your class.

I am currently producing an audiobook for the World History, Volume 1 text, which should be available on YouTube and podcasting apps early next year.

Sincerely,
