Hello CCCOER community,

RIOS is excited to invite you to join "The Pedagogy of Open and AI," a six-week, free, Learning Community facilitated by Drs. Karen Cangialosi and Kaitlin Bonner. The LC will meet, on zoom, Tuesdays 3:00pm - 4:00pm (EST) from October 21 - December 16, 2025.  Here is also the LC description and calendar:The upheaval that AI has had on traditional modes of teaching and learning in higher education has caused us to revisit and rethink pedagogical practices and priorities in our classrooms and may be the opportunity which finally positions open pedagogy as the disrupting force that many of us hoped it would be years ago. Discussions in our learning community space will be at the intersection of the open education landscape, open pedagogy, and AI. We will share ideas for how we can position our students as critical creative social agents that interact with and contribute to AI ethically that will allow them to effectively struggle against injustices and address local, regional and global problems. We will also discuss the many concerns about AI which have raised a need to address the complexity of open licensing, copyright and fair use.Schedule:October 21 - Introduction to AI and Open, PromptingOctober 28 - Framework for using AI with OERNovember 4 - Open Licensing, copyright, attribution, fair use, and GenAINovember 18 - Open Pedagogy and AIDecember 2 - AI, Un-grading, and Open EducationDecember 15 - Community driven: Topics by LC participantsIf you are interested in joining, please fill out the registration form!
