Apologies for cross-posting, all! Please share this opportunity with educators who may be interested in this text.
I am excited to announce the open call for peer reviewers for a forthcoming publication of the Digital Press, Systems Thinking & Systems-Based Practice in Nutrition & Dietetics.
We are seeking feedback from dietetic educators at the undergraduate or graduate level. Reviewers from adjacent fields are also welcome to review the text, should they be interested.
To express interest in serving as a peer reviewer, complete our Peer Review Interest Form. The call for reviewers will close on August 1. Reviewers will be notified if they are selected to participate by August 15 with a final deadline for completed reviews of December 1. A rubric for completing the review process will be provided.

Questions about participation can be sent to Iowa State University's Open Education Services Librarian, Abbey Elder (ael...@iastate.edu), or the book’s lead author, Erin Bergquist (eri...@iastate.edu).

About the Book

This text reflects an intentional effort to conceptualize and articulate how systems thinking can be applied in nutrition and dietetics. Although dietitians have long operated within complex systems, healthcare, food systems, education, management, and community contexts, this is among the first works to examine the many ways practitioners can recognize, navigate, and influence these systems to drive meaningful change.

While this text isn’t intended to be comprehensive, it represents an important first step. It offers foundational concepts, practical frameworks, and emerging strategies and tools to help readers better understand complex systems and leverage points for change. Ultimately, our goal is to advance the effectiveness of nutrition and dietetics professionals and, in turn, improve the health and well-being of individuals, communities, and populations.
