Hi CCCOER Community,

The EDI Committee extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in our 2024 Summer Book Club, where we explored Academic Ableism: Disability and Higher Education by Jay T. Dolmage. Your thoughtful contributions, reflections, and rich discussions were deeply meaningful. Awareness of ableist policies, practices, and norms in academia, past and present, is a first step toward building a more inclusive environment for our students and colleagues.

Our committee values your feedback, which helps us better serve you. Whether you attended all the sessions, just one, or couldn't attend any, we encourage you to take a few minutes to respond to our survey. Your feedback will guide how the committee plans future book clubs.

Lastly, we thank our book club facilitators, Chelsea James, Muhammad Hassan, Laura Little, Tasha Williams Moses, Brianna Chatmon, Angela Thomas, Mira Scarnecchia, Robert Lawson, and William Hamilton, for their time and effort in developing thoughtful discussion questions and leading our sessions. We couldn't have done it without you. Thank you!

Sincerely,
Wayde Oshiro and Andrea Scott, Co-VP
CCCOER EDI Committee
