Vendors for scanning archives

I thought I’d reach out to this group to see if anyone has done any larger digitization projects using a vendor. We are interested in digitizing our college newspaper and would like to get a list of vendors to reach out to. We are under a bit of a time crunch due to the mini-grant we received.

I forwarded your request to a friend who recently retired from the USAF library at Wright-Patterson.  She replied they did all their scanning in-house due to the classified nature of much of the work, but that that you might have look at their publicly-accessible resources.  After all, we've paid for them. 🙂

Another organization involved in a large scanning project (and who are the recipients of our scanning) is the Defense Technical Information Center. By the way, there is a section of DTIC — https://discover.dtic.mil — that is completely open to public access.
