A Fierce Commitment to Teaching: Michigan Faculty Voices on OER

At Washtenaw Community College in Ann Arbor, Michigan, strong faculty collaboration fuels innovative teaching. This panel will share the story behind a “fierce commitment to teaching” and how that ethos shapes their work with Open Educational Resources. Learn how strategic OER integration during course redesign can improve learning outcomes, reduce costs, and remove financial barriers – creating more inclusive and engaging learning environments.

Panelists will offer practical strategies, classroom experiences, and unexpected insights from their collaborative OER journeys, along with a glimpse of the camaraderie and dedication that make their approach so impactful.
