Looking for OER Adoption Planning Worksheets

Dear colleagues,

I’m reaching out to see if anyone has a sample OER course planning worksheet they’d be willing to share.

In a few weeks, I'll be hosting a three-day faculty development institute for instructors who have committed to converting one of their courses to use OER. As part of our “Planning for OER Adoption” session, we’re guiding participants through the process of aligning OER with learning outcomes, identifying content needs, surfacing potential barriers, and building an implementation timeline.

I’d love to see any existing templates, worksheets, or activity guides that others have used to help faculty organize and plan their OER adoption. We’re especially interested in resources that:

• Prompt alignment with course outcomes
• Identify needed content types and gaps
• Consider accessibility, LMS integration, and assessment revisions
• Include timeline or milestone planning

If you’ve developed something like this, or are aware of something that already exists, I’d be grateful if you’d be willing to share.

Hi Brandon, the ASCCC OERI created and shared a folder of resources to complement a self-paced Canvas course for an OER management series we are working on. This folder contains many of the documents and templates you're looking for. We are currently working on the course and will hold a series of workshops throughout May as we develop the various modules.

On the accessibility front, April 2026 the ADA accessibility regulations take effect.  The college will be required to make most OER content used meet the requirements by the first day of classes.

CCCOER also hosted a recent webinar on the new ADA requirements.
