A Pitch For Community Colleges to be Well Represented in the OEAwards

We at OEGlobal just announced the opening of nominations for the 2026 Open Education Awards for Excellence,. I am making the CCCOER community a first direct appeal have community colleges highly visible in the pool of nominations. As someone whose career was launched from a start in the Maricopa system, I am proud of the community college awardees recognized since 2013. I'd love to see a flood of community college nominations come in for 2026.

The focus in the last few years has shifted from award winners to all nominees whose work we share and promote. Sure, its great to get an award, and we welcome self-nominations, but it's also a community strengthener to spread some recognition, for efforts big or small, to others.

We continue our "gardening" theme this year following that everything starts small, from a seed, and in the OEAwards program of recognition, that seed is a nomination. I hope that many on this list will be interested in planting one (more more!) seeds.
