Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC) has released Open Attribution Builder as a Rich Content Editor tool in Canvas. This tool assists in citing open material used in your course content, including the variations and details for Creative Commons licensed material or items in the public domain. The screenshots below show the tool installed and appearing in the rich content editor toolbar, within a Canvas course.
Using the tool: Position your cursor in your content and click the toolbar icon. Fill out the desired fields and see the generated attribution. When finished, click “insert attribution” to place it into your content.


Installing Open Attribution Builder:
This tool is installed as an LTI app in Canvas. (To install site-wide, in the Canvas admin area, go into Settings, click the Apps tab, click View App Configurations, and click Add App.) Use the settings below. The app may be installed in any or all of your live, test and beta Canvas sites, or in individual courses.

Consumer key: AB-WACTC
Shared secret: AB-WACTC
