Hello Open Community,

This year, we’re trying something new for Open Education Week: an OEWeek Ambassador Program designed to help OEGlobal show up for the community in more ways than we already do. Instead of asking volunteers and community leaders to organize even more programming on behalf of OEGlobal and its regional nodes, we’re inviting a group of ambassadors to attend sessions with the goal of “filling a seat” on behalf of OEGlobal and celebrating the work you are already doing.

I’ve written a short overview of the concept here:

You may notice OEWeek Ambassadors reaching out by email, introducing themselves in webinar chats, or appearing with OEWeek Ambassador Zoom backgrounds. That's intentional! Ambassadors include OEGlobal staff, Board members, volunteers (such as CCCOER Executive Council and committee members), and invited participants from regions around the world, helping to amplify community events.

Save a seat for us 🙂.

Warmly,
Heather

Hi Heather, this is a really nice idea! I'll be curious to hear about how it goes. Thank you for sharing it here! Amy

We are very excited about the launch and spirit of the OEWeek Ambassador program, all thanks to Heather's concept, as well as for Monday's opening of Open Education Week, with 228 events/activities scheduled now through the end of April (0h wait there are more in the queue. The door remains open to add more.

For ideas outside of the webinar format here are some samplers
We appreciate the representation of CCCOER Members https://oeweek.oeglobal.org/activities/tag/cccoer-member/ plus all events from community colleges https://oeweek.oeglobal.org/activities/tag/community-college/ (let me know if I have missed yours, these are manually tagged).

Since we share so much sharing almost every day on this list, I hope many readers consider contributing either a new/recent OER you have developed or perhaps someone else's that you find inspiring/compelling in our call for Sharing Open Assets. Rather than building our own bespoke collection, we ask you share anywhere that is relevant, as long as its openly shared. We do offer specific guidance for:
Lastly we do invite sharing and participating (or even creating) asynchronous activities in the OEG Connect space for OEWeek

Mostly we ask that you find time to participate in any events/activities you can next week (and beyond) and share our to your colleagues and networks.
