Dear Open Education colleagues,
I’m writing with an update on the U.S.
Open Education National Priorities Process, which was kicked off last month by the Open Education Association in collaboration with organizations across the field. This effort aims to make open education a larger part of solving education’s most pressing challenges by identifying priorities for action and building plans to collectively advance them.
Everyone who believes in open education is invited to contribute this fall, whether it is submitting an idea, joining a listening session, or attending the National Summit where the process culminates this November. Read on for a summary of how to get involved.
Help brainstorm the challenges facing education and how open can help solve them. Join our sessions on
September 17 or
October 14, look out for sessions hosted by collaborators, or host your own.
Check out national priority ideas already generated and submit your own. This board will be updated throughout the fall, so check back to upvote and comment as ideas evolve.
The Open Education National Summit will be held on Nov. 10-12 in Chicago, bringing together representatives of the field to choose final priorities. Apply to be a delegate and represent your community. Travel scholarships are available.
Cheers,
Nicole
