Hello All,
Last week, construction began in the Jumka site of women’s jail cells, displacing approx. 20-30 families in the process.
We have spoken to the CDO, but nothing as of yet has been finalized in terms of the stoppage of the construction. He has stated that he will discuss with the Department of Prisons on this.
At this time, we should consider an alternative to all families in Jumka.
We need to look at a few options:
1.) Moving the Jumka families to an alternative site (Laukhi Border Custom)
2.) Modalities of movements (logistics/protection)
3.) Timeline for movements
4.) Shelter requirements at Laukhi BC. NRCS/IFRC/UNHabitat.
5.) WASH requirements at Laukhi
6.) Total population numbers (IOM)
7.) Demarche to the DAO (OCHA) on these issues
For your comments as soon as possible.
Thanks
Chris
