Subject: Draft Strategic Vision by the Diablo Canyon Decommissioning Engagement Panel

Good morning, everyone.  I hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving holiday.  Wanted to provide an update on the Diablo Canyon Lands and other issues related to the decommissioning of the power plant:

After several public meetings and hundreds of public comments, the Diablo Canyon Decommissioning Engagement Panel has released a DRAFT Strategic Vision. When finalized, the document will be attached to the PG&E Diablo Canyon Triennial Report submitted to the California Public Utilities Commission. It will also be distributed as a stand-alone document, for the community, the utility, and regulatory agencies as we proceed through the closure and decommissioning of the power plant.

We need your input! Please click this link (and then the link therein in the first paragraph) to read and provide comments on the DRAFT Strategic Vision:

Your input must be received by Monday, December 3rd.

Based upon the public’s input, a final document will be completed and distributed by mid December this year.

Please note: this draft only addresses the topics considered by the Engagement Panel to date: the decommissioning process, decommissioning funding, the Diablo Canyon Lands, and the repurposing of Diablo facilities. The Strategic Vision will be amended to address future topics to be considered in 2019 and beyond, including the management of spent nuclear fuel, the economic impacts of decommissioning, and the panel’s response to PG&E’s Triennial Report.

Please be a part of this historic process - get your comments in by December 3rd! Thank you and best wishes, Kara
