I'm working on a "low power" project for my car.  I have a RPi zero, and I want it to be able to connect to wifi APs that are in the vicinity when I park in various places.  Signal strength is usually poor if I'm looking just on my phone from inside the car where the Pi is.

So I'm looking for a recommendation of a WiFi adapter for a Pi that supports an external antenna, and a magnetic mount antenna that can stay outside the car, or something that can go in a window without obstructing much view.  I suspect the latter would end up being very directional though and I don't want to move it often so I might need multiple of them?

I might conceivably change the Pi Zero for a Pi 4 at some point but I'm hoping for a solution that would work with either.
