Church Extension Reports Improved Financial Position in 2009
Church Extension's 2009 annual report contains several positive financial highlights, thanks in great part to our investors, donors and borrowers who continue to be active and supportive partners in our ministry as we strive to serve and help congregations become and stay vital:
- Operating income was nearly $182,000.
- Gift and related investment income was more than $1.36 million, one of the best years for Church Extension.
- Outstanding Investment Note balances increased by more than $9.4 million and loan balances grew by more than $3.1 million.
- Unrealized and realized gains on investments were more than $1.44 million.

New Directors Join Church Extension Board
Two new directors were elected to the Church Extension board at the board meeting in Indianapolis in March. Attending their first board meeting in July in Orange, Calif. will be Aaron Park, Glendale, Calif., associate minister at Saegil Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Burbank and adjunct professor at Presbyterian Theological Seminary in America; and Priscilla Torres, Bayamon, Puerto Rico, attorney and legal advisor to the Christian Church in Puerto Rico.
