I will be the facilitating a paddling, camping, hiking, and ? trip for Friday 9-20-2024 thru Sunday 9-22-2024 at Brunet Island State Park, which is located near Cornell, WI. Information and driving directions can be found at the following website.(https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/parks/brunetisland)
1. Camping: If you are interested in camping, I have 1 campsite reserved. the site can have up to two tents and two vehicles and a maximum of 4 people
2.Paddling:
The planned paddle is a circumnavigation of the entire park starting and ending at the State Park boat landing.
a. Put in: Brunet Island State Park boat landing:
b. Time: Start time is 9:30 am
c. Take out: Brunet Island State Park boat landing
d. Distance: 3 - 5 miles.
e. Highlights: Fall colors, wildlife, fishing
3. Hiking:
In addition to multiple trails within Brunet Island State Park, sections of the Ice Age Trail are a short drive away.
a. Plans are flexible and may change to meet current weather conditions, Park issues, the needs of fellow trekkers, etc.
b. You are responsible for bringing your own equipment. Whether that be camping gear, boats, cooking stoves, etc. You are also responsible for bringing and preparing your own food. (We, Joe and I, have been known to supply the occasional meal, but do not plan on it)
5. If you plan to experience this trip with me:
a. The campsite space is first RSVP first serve. In other words,
to use the campsite, you must talk to me and be given a
confirmation. (Sounds high-handed, but what else can I do?)
b. Even if you are only interested in the other activities, RSVP me.
c. There are no other campsites available for this weekend at
the Park, but there are other campgrounds in the area.
