Goose Prairie Peat Harvesting Project Approved!

Good Afternoon Everyone!

 

Thank you for your support in our efforts to get our proposed Peat Harvesting Project in Goose Prairie approved by the Lake County Board of County Commissioners. In a 4-1 vote, the County Commissioners have approved our project! There was some vocal opposition to our project at the meeting, and in order to address the residential concerns of the opposition, the County Commission has put into place some safeguard amendments to our plan. These amendments do not appear to be overly burdensome to the project or our company, and we have accepted their requests. Two of the commissioners who voted for this project, with great courage in the face of potential political repercussions, are up for reelection this year. They are Commissioners Sean Parks and Leslie Campione. They, and their fellow commissioners, understand how this project will bolster the horticulture industry of Lake County, and in turn the State of Florida. We would like to extend our appreciation to all of the commissioners for the job they do on the behalf of the citizens of Lake County, and the extensive consideration that they gave to this project. Thank you again to all of our supporters, your voice was heard and your presence was felt in the room today. We greatly appreciate the trust and support you have shown to us.
