Just over a week ago we had the privilege to meet many of you at the Tropical Plant Industry Expo (TPIE) in Ft. Lauderdale. The show was quite exciting this year, with a great attendance! We hope that your impression was as positive as yours, and we'll see you in Ft. Lauderdale at the show next year! |
JACKSONVILLE LANDSCAPE SHOW February 13-14, 2014 We hope to see you at a great regional show next week - The Jacksonville Landscape Show. This show is located at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds: 510 Fairgrounds Pl, Jacksonville, FL. While the show is for all nursery growers it prominently features woody ornamentals and trees for the North Florida and Southeastern US region.
This is a fantastic show, with an intimate feel and great community aspect. While smaller than the larger shows in Orlando or Ft. Lauderdale, the Jacksonville show is an excellent place to meet some great people from our industry. We hope to see you there! Stop by our booth, #217!
| WOOD PRODUCTS BEGINNING TO BECOME SCARCE
In our industry, wood products play a vital role; whether they are pine bark, sawdust, mulches, chips, or in other forms. Last year the US Department of Agriculture started a grant program to encourage power production from waste wood and other organics that would be landfilled. While the program was designed to only cover new sources of wood waste, and not current commodities, the unfortunate side effect is that much of the products we use in our industry are being diverted, in one form or another, to this program.
As a result, many wood products are becoming harder to come by. Unfortunately, with an overall constant supply of wood products, but a now increased demand, there is some likelihood that we can see prices to pick up within the coming year. This is a reality that will affect all of us, so now is the time to prepare. Please feel free to contact us on how we might help you to mitigate any potential increased costs. |
UPCOMING EVENTS! We have two events on the near horizon. In March we will be hosting several FNGLA Chapters for their monthly meeting at our facility. This is a great opportunity to meet some of your local peers, as well as tour C&C Peat. Not to mention great food! The Native Plant Show is being held April 10-11 in Kissimmee. This will be the second year, after the huge success of the inaugural year in 2013. We are extremely excited to support and attend this great show. We hope to see you there as well! | IMPORTANT DOWNLOADS
