T. Boone Pickens' Plan...

Hello cc4c members!

I would like to encourage those of you who are interested in Energy
and the Environment to join me in supporting the energy plan set forth
by T. Boone Pickens. It is a good plan, and it is critical that we
rapidly move forward to solve our energy and environmental problems
while we still can.

The Pickens Plan would install wind generators in the central United
States reduce foreign oil consumption and create clean energy. I
believe that it is the most cost effective plan proposed. You can

If you have a little more time and energy you could write your
congressperson and ask them to support the plan as well. Below is a

Dear Congresswoman Giffords;

I'm sure that you know of the energy plan put forth by oil mogul T.
Boone Pickens. You may not be aware that he is organizing local
groups for citizens that are interested in encouraging energy
independence and clean energy development. Last week
Arizona's congressional district 8 group met to discuss ways to
promote the Pickens Plan.

We would like to ask you to endorse T. Boone’s plan as many other
congressional leaders have done (see attached list). Your support is
particularly important since you are a member of the Science &
Technology's Subcommittee on Energy and the Environment and a vocal
proponent of clean energy.

We are not asking you to sponsor specific legislation, but our hope is
that you would join us in calling for an Energy Independence Plan to
be enacted within the first 100 days of the next administration. The

We of Arizona's 8th district are fortunate to have you as a clean
energy advocate in Congress. I appreciate your support for solar
energy, one of Arizona's greatest natural resources. And, although
Arizona is not blessed with as much wind energy as other parts of our
country, I hope you will agree that wind energy is important for the
future of our nation and our world and that you will join together
with us in supporting the T. Boone Pickens Plan. No one plan is going
to be sufficient to solve all of our energy and environmental
challenges, however we believe that the Pickens Plan is a good start
and that it is crucial to act swiftly. One plus is that the Pickens
Plan would extend the US power grid which would also benefit the solar
energy industry.
