I think that the Berlin office is closely tied to the central
organization, but I'm not 100% sure.

It's the NY branch office of Creative Commons. The office has only
one person, but he's a great guy to work with. They're not hosted by
any other organization.

We work together mostly on events, not legal stuff. We got
substantial help from Creative Commons and other groups with the
"Wikis Take Manhattan" and "Wikipedia Loves Art" projects.

So far, we haven't had any funding of our own, but have concentrated
on projects with other organizations.
A great place to get volunteers here is the Students For Free Culture
clubs at universities; we have two of them in this city, at NYU and
Columbia University. The guy at the Creative Commons office is
actually a former President of the student club at NYU, and the guy at
The Open Planning Project who helped us with "Wikis Take Manhattan" is
a former President of the student club at Columbia University.
