Hi team,

 

FYI - DC Central Kitchen is able to provide us with ingredients for food demos at the activity tables.  They are unable to bring the truck farm to the May 18th event though.

Hi Jen,

 

I have contacted Lindsey Palmer, who is in charge of organizing the Truck Farm, to see if it would be available on May 18th.  That would be on a Saturday, is that correct?   As soon as I hear back from her I will let you know.   We will be able to provide the ingredients for the activity tables.   If you provide me with a list of ingredients you will need I can coordinate with our Chef and Director of School Food Services, Ed Kwitowski, to make sure we get them to you before these special events.

Hi Katie,

 

Hope all is well.  Our team is in contact with an Assistant Principal at Kelly Miller Middle School about staffing an activity table on May 29th.  We’re still waiting for permission. 

 

In the meantime, we’ve decided we’d like to also host an activity table at City Year’s Spring Fling on May 18th at Kelly Miller to promote healthy eating and Strawberries and Salad Greens Day.  I’ve cc’d our contact from City Year – Jerry Ilar.  He was wondering if DC Central Kitchen’s truck farm would be able to come to the May 18th Spring Fling.

 

Another question is if our volunteers did a food demo for the activity tables, such as giving out strawberry smoothies, would DC Central Kitchen be able to provide the local farm fresh ingredients on a donated or reimbursed basis?
