Hi Capital Cause Volunteers!
Your time is important to us, and we thank you so much for giving time to the valuable cause of food deserts in Ward 7!
This Saturday, we will be collaborating with City Year to help them host their Spring Fling event. We will need volunteers to arrive between 12 noon and 12:15pm at the Kelly Miller Middle School in the front of the building, under the “Kelly Miller” engraving.
We will be wearing outfits in red, green, or white, and if you can too, that would be great! If you have your Capital Cause pin (from the Spring Soiree), please be sure to wear it, too!
We have several team roles that you can help out with: 1) Food Prep (Cutting up the strawberries and measuring the ingredients), 2) Runner (more like walking the smoothies between the kitchen and our table!), 3) Table Managers (making sure the people coming to the table hear our “health foods” talking points, distributing the smoothies, telling the runner to tell the kitchen we need more), and 4) Marketers (encouraging people to come over to the table for smoothies and information on how to eat more healthy). It’ll be first come, first serve on which role you’re assigned to.

Hi All,
If we are doing the event at Kelly Miller next week, I can let my contact at OSSE know. The talking points were in review, but should be ready by next week. I can also ask for the same donation of ingredients by DC Central Kitchen. Please let me know once we’ve confirmed with Assistant Principal Hobbs.
Thanks,
Jen
