HELLO ROCKSTARS!!

I hope you all had a chance to watch the video.  If not, do not read this email, yet. I know you didn't try to keep going.  You better watch that email first! lol

If you have watched the video, continue reading below.

As I was searching on Youtube for motivational videos, I remembered that over the weekend I attended a session called The Art of Storytelling.  During this session, the presenter shared the story of a Derek, the Olympian in the video I shared.  He discussed how Derek had trained for the Olympics as an Olympic athlete would.  However, with just 140 meters left to go in his race, he popped his hamstring and immediately fell to the ground.  Many athletes and onlookers would've quit during this time.  But not Derek, he got up with tens of thousands watching and limped his way to the finish line.  Derek knew he had come too far to give up.

You all have come so far in your Giving Circles Project experiences.  You're in your final week.  You may feel like your network is tapped out.  You may not feel like you can share one more tweet or update your Facebook status one last time.  You may be struggling to send your ask letter one last time.  But remember, you've come too far to not give it all you have in this last week.  You have just 3 more days until your deadlines.  Finish strong and remember the countless lessons you've learned throughout this entire experience.  Derek has his Olympic story, but each of you now has a fundraising story that can use one day to serve as motivation to someone to try something new and invest people in a cause much larger than ourselves.

The team at Capital Cause is proud of you all.  We've been your number one cheerleaders every step of the way.

Darla

Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive. -Howard Thurman
