Hi Andrea and Kezia,
I cannot attend today's brunch planning meeting. I have a grad assignment due this weekend. But I still wanted to send my update:
Brunch Voting and Grants Presentation:
1. The grant deadline was yesterday. We received 2 nonprofit applications. As of right now, we are moving forward with these two applications as the finalists, unless the Capital team wants to extend the deadline for one more week.
2. Voting: Voting will happen just like last year. I've attached the ballot from last year for your reference. This year's ballot will be similar. Below is the process:
- First, I will introduce the voting portion to the brunch attendees, explain the ballot and the voting process. Then, Jamarr will introduce the nonprofits and their projects. It will be part of the table facilitator's job to ensure that participants vote. On each table setting, participants will have a quarter-page ballot with a description of the non-profit and the project to fund. Participants check the nonprofit to receive the grant. Table facilitators will collect the ballots. Then Jamarr, Jalisa and I will collect the ballots, tabulate the scores and write-in the grantee on paper check(s).
GCP Presentation
- Now that GCPs are wrapped up, each nonprofit will receive an email this week announcing their award and also asking to confirm their nonprofit representative at the brunch.
- At the brunch, prior to the GCP presentation, Jalisa will have each GCP team lined up outside the room. When it's time for the GCP Grant presentations, the teams will line up in the front of the room.
- Each Team Lead will have 1 slide and give no more than 1 minute about their GCP experience. The team will take a group photo with their nonprofit and CC liaison and then the next team will repeat this process until all GCP teams have gone.
- This will happen for both the 3 Capital track GCPs and 2 Cause Track GCPs.
- It's 1 minute presentation followed by a picture. This should take 10, but no more than 12 minutes.
GCP Awards
Karla and I will present GCP Awards.
The awards are as follows: 2 Heart of GCP Awards (1 Capital and 1 Cause) and 1 GCP Top Philanthropist Award (Capital)
This should take no more than 3 minutes.
Please note: Each GCP participant will receive a certificate to be handed out after the brunch.
Next Steps:
- Who is creating the Brunch Powerpoint? Can this person send me the PowerPoint template so my team can create our GCP slides?
- Once the ballot is created, who do I send the ballot to for printing?
- We have 3 big checks: 1 Capital, 1 Cause and 1 general. We have more GCP awards (5) than big checks (3). We need to problem-solve around this issue.
Let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. Have a great meeting!
Best,
Darla
