Dear Fellow Ugandans,

The International Day of Forests (IDF) on March 21 is fast approaching, and once again we would like to ask for your support in promoting this key event for global forestry and forest-dependent communities through your networks. Attached see our price-list, every Ugandan should sincerely plant a tree this day to avert adverse climate change.

Climate change is one of the biggest challenges facing our planet and forests' role in mitigating needs to be more clearly understood. For this reason, the theme selected by the Collaborative Partnership on Forests for the 2015 International Day of Forests is "Forests | Climate | Change".

This simply conveys the message that forests are central to our efforts to fight climate change, whether at the level of global policy or as local initiatives. We must all rally behind this call for actions and changes.

Look out for the superb communication materials FAO has prepared to help you promote the International Day of Forests:

1.    VIDEO: We would be grateful if you could share this 60-second video on social media and, on 21 March Itself, post on your websites. We would appreciate it if you could approach local television stations and ask them to show the video.  Please contact us for broadcast-quality versions.
