Hello User Groupers,

My name is Ryan Baxter. I am a developer advocate at IBM and will be in town for the upcoming CloudDevelop conference [1] in October along with one or two other IBMers. Since we are going to be in town for the conference we decided it would be a good idea to look and see if there were any local meetups/user groups in the area that we might be able to share some knowledge with and we came across yours. (It was particularly attractive since we are JS hackers ourselves!) We work mostly in the Cloud space particularly around IBM's PaaS offering called Bluemix [2]. We were wondering if there would be any interest in a talk on Javascript and Bluemix at your October meeting? Bluemix can run all types of apps whether they are plain old web apps (using JS on the frontend and Node on the backend), mobile apps, or even IoT apps, so we can focus in on one category or talk broadly about everything. As an added bonus Bluemix is based on an open source project called Cloud Foundry [3] so the majority of things you learn can be applied to other Cloud Foundry based PaaSes as well!

And for those of you wondering if this is going to be a sales pitch, I can promise you it won't be :) We are technical guys not sales guys and we are both speaking on technical topics at the conference. Our only objective is to share the cool stuff IBM is doing in the cloud space with other developers :)
