Yesterday we were looking at debt and today we will continue to discuss or give counsel to us who are already in debt.

Be determined never to incur another debt. Deny yourself a thousand things rather than run in debt. This has been the curse of your life, getting into debt. Avoid it as you would the smallpox.  {AH 393.4}  

Make a solemn covenant with God that by His blessing you will pay your debts and then owe no man anything if you live on porridge and bread. It is so easy in preparing your table to throw out of your pocket twenty-five ngwee for extras. Take care of the ngwees, and the kwachas will take care of themselves. It is the mites here and the mites there that are spent for this, that, and the other that soon run up into kwachas. Deny self at least while you are walled in with debts. . . . Do not falter, be discouraged, or turn back. Deny your taste, deny the indulgence of appetite, save your ngwee, and pay your debts. Work them off as fast as possible. When you can stand forth a free man again, owing no man anything, you will have achieved a great victory.

I believe you are all in good health, though I know not at 100%. I hope your families, both nuclear and extended are being catered for at 100% by your responsible selves. After all, that is what we are here for on this damn Terra Fir-ma until death do us part.

With regards to the passing on of our friend, comrade, fellow ex-shootist, monk, bungwe and classmate - Alick Mbuzi - I never expected it to have happened so soon more so that I visited him on two occasions during the weekend of the 7th and 8th November, 2014. On the Friday of the 7th of November, I actually had an assignment of producing both T-shirts and Wraps (Ifitenge or Chitenges) branded in my NGOs (Noble Causes International's) colors and image for the State Funeral of our late Republican President, H.E. Michael Chilufya Sata, a.k.a King Cobra, and the person that I thought could do a quality and professional job was none other than Alick, our fallen soldier and comrade in the battle against all and sundry, including you know what!

I first got disoriented when I got near his bungalow in Hillview, Chalala. However, some riff-ruffs gave me directions to his diggs. When I got there, I was allowed to drive in by his son and heir, Alick Jnr. But ..... wait a minute! ......

I received a shock of my life when I discovered that a male adult who was lying on a mattress that was sprawled on the veranda at the front of our MAN's mansion was Alick Mbuzi, himself. I could not hold my tears as I was also distressed by the health status and physical stature that he was in at that time. I had no option but to kneel by his side and do what a sane man was expected to do under such circumstances .... Pray for his quick recovery! I appealed and called upon our Creator and Almighty God to restore his health, forgive him for his shortcomings in life and consider the fact that we needed him, most especially his immediate and distant family. As I was lamenting and pleading for divine intervention, I realized that I may have been doing it for a soul that was absent from this world. I was consoled and elated when he responded in the affirmative to my simple question: "Alick, do you know who is talking to you right now?" His response was: "Yes, of course. Are you not 'FAFA DREAD? COOL J?" Never mind those names, we are Junior Elders now. But, I was happy to note that he could recognize me. This meant that there was hope as it was a sign that his mental faculties were still intact, most especially his memory.

The rest is history! I was lucky to talk to Ba Mulamu and admonished her for not having communicated to us with regard to our friend's plight. Of course, it being a touchy and sensitive matter, I just quickly delved into nutrition matters, that she should ensure that she gives him a good diet made up of soups, porrigdes, fruit cocktails and immunity boosters (herbals). The next day, I passed through to check on him and counseled him. I was happy to note that he was hammering some mangoes and watching the English League games, if I recall the Man U versus Liverpool game or was it Chelsea. Yaba! Old age, I have forgotten. After spending a few quality moments with him and with the assurance that the man was back on track, I said a parting prayer and hit the road to .... 

The next day, Sunday the 9th of November, 2014, I called the wife after our Mass but she never picked up my calls. I sent an sms inquiring about my man and family's state of health. I got no response. until the day when Mama Zaliwe called me to break the sad news: That Alick had ran his race and handed over the baton to his wife and children to continue. Tears well up my eyes. I never expected him to go so soon, in his prime. The Lord, himself, knows why he had to take him away. If only I had known much, much earlier on. Maybe I could have used my powers and gifts to help my friend avoid death at such an age.

May we remember Alick for the good times we had together with him. I shall always have this image of him smiling and encouraging me to fight on in life. He was a good man. A warrior. A dependable and responsible fellow. And, like all of us, a caring father, parent with imperfections - which is in all of us bu our nature as human beings. MAY HIS POOR SOUL REST IN GOD'S GOOD HANDS UNTIL THE DAY OF RESURRECTION WHEN THE PRINCE OF PEACE, KING OF KINGS, JESUS SHALL EMERGE LIKE A THIEF IN THE NIGHT AND DO THE NEEDFUL. YABA, TWACHULA, MWE.

Meanwhile, back to NOW! The battle continues .... never give up ... die fighting for a better livelihood for yo family, neighbor, our nation and the human race, in general. Abash greed, corruption, nepotism, selfishness and silliness.

Aaaaaaah ..... I am out of here. See yaaa ... love y'all and TAKE CARE! GOD BLESS AND PROTECT YOU FROM ALL EVIL, BROS AND SISSIES.
