2nd ICI-ACC National Cube Test Competition '06 The Associated Cement Companies limited (ACC) the pioneer in the cement industry has been spearheading the task of dissemination of information, expanding knowledge base & the skills of the people on cement & concrete, by publishing technical books & magazines, organising seminars, training programmes and creating a data base through its R & D activities. You are invited to participate in the 2nd ICI- ACC National Cube Test Competition - 2006 to be held in January 2006 as per the following programme. The participant to make concrete cube to achieve target cube strength of 30Mpa on 28th day from the day of casting. The competition to be held in two categories 1.      Student Category: Student of engineering Institutes 2.      Professional Category: Civil engineers practicing in the field of construction, contractor/ client / consultants/ test labs of government or private institutes. Objective of the competition This competition provides an opportunity for the students of engineering institutes and the young engineers working in the construction field to understand the characteristic behavior of different proportions of concrete by having hands on experience and ultimately arrive at the desired final mix. Practical hands on experience gained by the participants during competition will help them in their future endeavors in developing better and better concrete. Target Strength & Workability The participant to make concrete cubes to achieve targets cube strength of 30Mpa on the date of testing. Total five cubes are to be submitted at the designated place by the participants. The mix should have a slump of 50-70mm. Award Certificates and awards will be presented to winners & runners in a special function organised by ICI and ACC.
