Dear Mr.Sreedharan,
I was truly overwhelmed to note on my
TV last night that you have been conferred with the highest French recognition
"Knight of the Legion of Honour." Civil Engineers rarely get recognition
and when that comes from a foreign country, it has a very special significance
and value. That such a recognition should have come to you, though late in
life, should be satisfying. I wish India will also take note and recognise
you with honours even higher than what has been bestowed on you so far. I
recall a famous statement of Confucius." A prophet is not without honour,
save in his own country."
I wish you all the very best in your professional
and personal endeavours.
God Bless.
Dr. T. N. Subba
