Hey group,
A couple new postings.  Can Sony and Seth Schachner entice you down to Miami?
I don't know as much about Dash, but they've got a couple investors who do know a couple things....
 
Lastly, the U2'b clip is a little dated coming from CES, but it's still deathly funny (but not as funny as the Gizmodo guys) especially as Gates' deadline approaches.

Manager, Digital Business – Latin America

Draft Position Specification

Position is part of Sony BMG's Latin Regional Office.

 

Location: Miami Beach, FL - SBMG Latin America Regional office. (Location to change to Coconut Grove, FL, in October.)

 

Reporting:  Vice President Digital Business – Latin America.

 

Position is extremely visible and has interaction with all Latin region digital teams and Latin region senior executive team.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Assistance with regional digital and mobile business development
    • Understanding and communicating new, "leading edge" digital and mobile music models, including "over the air mobile stores," subscription services, embedded "Comes with Music" handsets, and other new digital models involving digital music.
    • Business model analysis (quantitative & qualitative, including revenue forecasts for new digital business proposals)
    • Digital Business Proposal preparation  (term sheets, term summaries)
    • Communication & liaison with digital business colleagues in LAM territories and in Global Digital Business Group.
    • Meeting with new and potential digital business partners; negotiation assistance with partners as warranted.
    • Participation in LAM Business Development update calls with Management.
    • Travel to LAM territories as warranted. (Travel to be limited and will likely be less than 25% of overall time.)
    • Liaison with Business Affairs on contractual matters as warranted.

  • Management & Development of Latin Region Digital Projects and Business
    • Development and management of artist subscription services
    • Development and management of regional or multi-territory digital premium and / or integrated digital partnerships (such as "embedded artist handsets")
    • Liaison with and management of Sony BMG Latin region venture partners.

 

  • Digital Business Analytics & Strategy:
    • Ongoing collection and monitoring of financial data from new business deals, both regional and in individual territories.
    • Forecasting of revenue & profitability from new LAM digital & mobile deals.
    • Ongoing monitoring of all new digital business in LAM region—i.e., discovery of launch dates, monitoring and reporting of key operational developments.
    • Assistance with defining and presenting Latin Region's Digital & Mobile Strategy.

 

  • Assistance with New Technology Presentations and Corporate assignments for Latin American Regional Office.
    • Preparation of PowerPoint presentations

o       Preparation of Industry & Competitive Analyses for Latin America

o       Monitoring & collection of relevant Latin American new technology research

o       Assistance with organization, programming, and presentations at Latin Digital Conferences.

 

Skills:

 

*Proactive individual with 3-5 years professional experience.

 

*MBA degree preferred

 

*Familiarity with new technology, especially with new digital and mobile music or entertainment technology applications would be a very large "plus."

 

*Exceptional organizational skills, ability to handle multiple projects at once.

 

*Strong analytical skills.

 

*Excellent written and oral communication skills. 

 

*Bilingual English/Spanish speaker is a plus

 

*Excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, and the ability to work with multiple executives and parts of the organization (ranging from corporate to operational) is a plus. Discretion is also a key component.

 

*Knowledge and familiarity with tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Word preferred.

Job description:
We are looking for a passionate person to drive our growing customer-base into a
solid retention and loyalty program. This role will take ownership for customers
and serve as the single point of contact to the customer.

Your primary goal will be to increase customer satisfaction, increase loyalty and
reduce customer churn.  You will oversee a number of strategic customer retention
programs as well as work to identify new opportunities for creating customer loyalty.
You will be expected to not only create and launch a variety of programs but to
monitor, track and report on the results.  This position requires working extensively
with cross-functional teams in order to obtain program buy-off as well as to launch
and measure the program results. 
You'll need to be organized, have great communication skills, and a demonstrated
track record of building and managing marketing programs and customer communities.
 
Key responsibilities:
•          Launch, monitor and achieve retention program goals
•          Develop & test win-back, upgrade, loyalty & retention programs
•          Develop reporting & analysis in order to track program effectiveness
against key metrics
•          Ability to take strategic direction, develop plans & execute tactics
•          Ownership of Dash Customer Forums
•          Represent Dash customer perspectives to internal teams
•          Develop customer evangelists (including creating and running specific
programs)
•          Provide marketing team liaison and guidance to customer service organization
to ensure a great all-around customer experience
 
The ideal candidate:

- Exceptional track record developing & marketing retention programs
- Must be results driven and willing to take a hands-on approach to get the job done 
- Has managed online customer forums/communities for consumer (vs b2b) products 
- Has strong program management and multi-tasking skills 
- Has strong problem solving and decision-making ability 
- Has masterful interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Knows how to make full use of Web/online tools 
- Experience with social media a plus 
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
