Job description:

Director Business (Groups) Development- experience in web 2.0 or social networking
-  5+ years of experience in core business development with emphasis on web 2.0
or social networking group user acquisitions
-  Superb track record of prospecting, negotiation, and closing business development
with groups is highly desired
-   Experience is the development of strategic partnerships, strategic alliances,
and  user acquisition methodologies

Director, Business Development
The Role:
In the role of Director, Business Development you will identify and negotiate strategic partnerships to grow the reach, engagement and monetization of Kaboose's web properties. The position reports to the VP of Business Development and is located in NYC's Silicon Alley.
Responsibilities
  • Advise internal business constituents (Marketing, Sales, Ad Operations, Product, Editorial) on selection of strategic partners.
  • Perform competitive analysis and valuation of potential business opportunities and projects.
  • Engage partners in deal discussions, work with Finance and Legal to structure and negotiate contract terms, and execute deals to help Kaboose business units achieve both long and short term goals.
  • Review key, relevant industry trends, models and metrics to identify growth opportunities and acquisition targets to enhance Kaboose's businesses.
  • Attain assigned target business development and revenue based goals.
  • Drive preparation of materials (and supporting analyses) required to assist in making strategic and business related decisions.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Internet-savvy, deep knowledge of the various online media business models across the industry.
  • 3-4 years in new media business development preferred. Relevant experience in consulting, investment banking, M&A, private equity or corporate development acceptable.
  • Strong oral, written and communication skills with the ability to interact cross-functionally and at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision in order to guide, coordinate and facilitate activities across groups.
