Not so fast, convergers. Users must have a network-connected computer turned on and running Verizon Media Manager software 
Yesterday Verizon FiOS rolled out the ability to access YouTube videos on a TV.  Last year Verizon launched widgets compatible with the FiOS TV service that allow users to access Facebook and Twitter on their TV. In the case of the Twitter application, users have the ability to see live tweets on the screen related to a show they’re watching.

This person will support media relations for Investment Management in the U.S. He/she will work closely with other team members to support product areas (fixed income, real assets, and equities) and distribution businesses (mutual funds, institutional and RPS). The role is heavily focused on media relations and requires the candidate to be able to gather information from numerous internal sources, develop media plans and pitch ideas, and get them into the trade and national media.
Major Tasks, Key Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:
* Work to proactively place favorable stories about our products, services and people.
* Respond to incoming media inquiries about key products, people and issues.
* Serve as back-up to senior team members.
* Research and prepare media responses, Q&As and press releases.
* Build relationships with trade and national media covering investment topics. Specifically, support several product areas including fixed income.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree required.
* 3-5 years media relations experience, preferably at a leading asset manager or financial services firm, or in the financial practice at a top tier public relations agency. Direct, proactive experience with the financial media is required.
* Solid knowledge of financial products and markets.
* Good relationships with the financial media.
* Excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills.
* Ability to coach executives on how to deal with the press effectively.
* Ability to manage several projects at once.

Roger Faxon, veteren entertainment executive  is the Media Guru on April 29. Faxon has worked in TV, film and auction. He started managing in the  music business in  1984.  He  will talk about his enviable job of working in the music publishing business (as opposed to the recorded music side) where he is running EMI's 1.3 million song catalog.  He will also address the grave challenges currently facing the industry.
Media Guru breakfasts are off the record and have no speeches or Power Point presentations; they are strictly Q&A with half the time reserved for audience questions.
