The National Rules for Electrical Installations are essential for electricians, inspectors and regulators as they specify the safety requirements for electrical installations in all types of premises in Ireland. The revisions bring requirements in line with recent technical developments and best practice in Europe, including new technologies such as electric cars, adaptation for IT connections , and guidance on energy efficiencies.

ETCI's Technical Committee 6 (Equipment for Potentially Explosive Atmospheres) has prepared
the National Rules for Potentially Explosive Atmospheres, ET105. This publication specifies the requirements for electrical installations in potentially explosive atmospheres. This Edition replaces the Second Edition.

First and foremost there is legislation which requires certain electrical installations are maintained to safety standards, meaning they must be periodically inspected and tested. As well as the requirement to be compliant with ET101, you may also find that other organisations such as the local authority or your insurance agents will require periodic inspection and testing of all your electrical installations by a professional electrician.

DNES electricians are fully conversant with the requirements of the ETCI Wiring Regulations (ET101) and are qualified to undertake testing all types of industrial, commercial and domestic electrical installations, including bespoke solutions for churches.

Michael O'Grady and Padraig Plunkett of Kilbride Power are industry professionals with over 60 years combined experience at all levels in the development, design, construction, maintenance, operation, control and health & safety of high voltage electrical systems.

Having held senior roles in design, construction and H&S the team is well placed to answer all queries associated with electrical installations.

A chartered electrical engineer with a background in HV design, construction and project management teamed with a time served electrician from a utility HV background with a H.Dip. SHAWW in Health and Safety provide the ideal combination to deliver the subject matter in an engaging and interactive manner with the ability to understand the needs of groups and individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and cater to those needs throughout the course.

Each Electro-Technical Council of Ireland (ETCI) one-day training course is aimed at electrical contractors and electricians who wish to be proficient in verifying and certifying that electrical installations comply with the National Rules for Electrical Installations as issued by the ETCI.
