Dear Sir,

This is Razib from Bangladesh. I found an article in which the author mentioned that they generated a waterfall plot for showing the mutation profile of a gene and its related genes across multiple cancers. I searched for the tools for a whole day at your site, unfortunately I didn't find the tool at your portal.

Would you mind if I request you to give me instructions for using the tools for generating waterfall plots if your portal has it?

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,
Razib.

Hi Razib,

The waterfall plot was introduced back in 2019. See here https://docs.cbioportal.org/news/#november-22-2019

I checked the documentation on waterfall plots, and indeed this is missing in the documentation pages. I'll follow-up with the team to improve this.

Best,

Pieter

Hi Razib,

You are right, those steps are outdated. I have raised this issue as well.

Just for the record here and to help other users, here are the steps:

1. query BRAF on CCLE study
2. go to Plots tab
3. on vertical axis select "Treatment Response"
4. on horizontal axis select "Ordered samples". This will result in view shown in screenshot below:

Dear Sir,

Thank you for the instructions.
I have gone through the blog post. The steps mentioned in the blog post are probably outdated. That's why it is not user friendly for a beginner. Would you please see if I am right or wrong?

Sincerely,
Razib.
