Inquiry - Mitochondrial DNA datasets

Hi,

Recently I tried to retrieve mitochondrial DNA mutations from cBioPortal, but I kept coming across the same error saying that the gene symbols I entered were invalid (e.g. MT-ND1).

May I know if this is a temporary glitch, or mitochondrial DNA data has been removed from the database?

I'd really appreciate your response.

Hi Eng Wee,

Thank you for reaching out. This isn't a glitch, mitochondrial DNA-encoded genes (like MT-ND1, MT-ND2, etc.) are currently not supported in cBioPortal, so they will show up as invalid symbols.
