I was also wondering if I could set up a meeting with someone who can help me understand the best way of studying and correlating abnormal mRNA expression levels for a set of genes?

Hello,

I am studying a specific gene (LATS1 and LATS2), and I am trying to see the prevalence of phosphorylation (either general or at its N-terminus). I tried to query it using the special IDs template described in the FAQs, but it shows up as an error. How can I go about obtaining the data?

Thanks,

Hi,

I don’t think we have LATS1 or LATS2 phosphorylation data in cBioPortal. The CPTAC mass spec data only includes general protein levels, and the RPPA data in TCGA does not contain phospo-specific antibodies for these two proteins. As an example, see this correlation study of RPPA antibodies with LATS1 expression by mass spec: https://bit.ly/3NBWbDd

I hope this is helpful.

Niki.

Thanks for the information. Do you know of any dataset or database that I can use to study LATS phosphorylation in certain cancer types, ideally the same ones studied in the PanCancer studies?

Also, is it possible to set up a meeting with someone who can show me how best to visualize and compare mRNA expression levels between different groups of genes?
