performance issues

Hi

It seems that cBioPortal has some performance / stability issues. When I prompt for any dataset (larger than 'small') , e.g. 'curated set of non-redundand studies + mutation data for 1-3 genes' (without CNV and SV), after a minute or two I get the data, but it is almost impossible to download it, since it either causes browser tab to freeze or (rarely) it downloads with an error message:

I have replicated this error on different browsers and different computers.

Hi Marcin, 

Thanks for this report.  We are aware of this problem. Unfortunately, we're running up against the limits of browser memory and need to re-engineer how we handle downloading large data sets.  

For the time being, we recommend downloading raw datasets from our repository: https://github.com/cBioPortal/datahub
