data updates?

Dear, 

For somatic mutations the column 'COSMIC' shows the number of occurrences in COSMIC but if you hoover over this number, it says that the last updated data are from 'before 2017'. Does it mean no recent updates have been done for these numbers?

That’s correct – we are actually in the process of removing COSMIC due to data license restrictions, but we’re hoping to add a new updated version later

Thanks Ino for this informaton, although it is not what I hoped for. 

We are looking for a work-around to get access to the COSMIC data since a license is way to expensive for us!

Got it – I believe it’s free for academic use, but not sure if that applies to the setting in which you are using it

Hi Ino, 

It's a pity that the COSMIC column is no longer available in cBioPortal but I understand the reason why. 

Can you inform me what exactly means the allele freq (T). E.g. does 0.25 means that the variant was found in 25 out of 10.000 alleles sequenced in tumor samples?
